Well, it seems that the Mayans were wrong. The world didn't end and the calendar did indeed flip over to 2013.

Of course, the Mayans weren't the only ones to miss a few things in 2012 (and we'll get to our predictions next week) and we were there to document them all. It's always interesting for Tim and I to go back at the end of the year and see what were the most-read stories on our site.

Naturally, being a two-person team, we can't exhaustively cover every aspect of Hollywood and film, but knowing what you all like to read gives us a nice little idea of what to look for when we are adding stories to the site. So, each year we look at what you read the most and try to make a conscious effort to give you what you want, you know the Burger King approach.

Sometimes we succeed, but often we fail, either way, we continually strive to improve the site and its offerings. Looking over the list, it seems that you all enjoy first looks at both posters and trailers. This isn't really a surprise given the visual nature of the Internet.

Without further ado, here's the top 10 stories on our site from 2012 and one story that should have made the list.

  1. Check out all of the Super Bowl movie ads right here
  2. Best movies of 2012 that you don't know about yet: Tim's list
  3. Our 2012 top box office pick 'Rises' above all the rest
  4. Skip 3D, watch 'Star Wars Uncut' instead
  5. New 'Avengers' trailer literally melts your mind
  6. New 'Spider-Man' trailer looks, well, 'Amazing'
  7. 'Bourne' lives on with new poster and trailer
  8. Ferris Bueller returns on February 5th (Updated with full commercial)
  9. Best movies of 2012 that you don't know about yet: John's list)
  10. Why 'The Dark Knight Rises' is destined to fail (UPDATED with comments)

Well, it seems pretty obvious that you all like the biggest trailers and our opinion pieces, especially when champion something as crazy as the potential of The Dark Knight Rises failing.

It also appears that you enjoy our prognosticating news stories where we attempt to predict the top box office performers and notable sleeper picks. This is an annual favorite of Tim and I and don't worry, you will see them pop up in the next couple of weeks for 2013.

Other than that, we will continue to do what it is that we do best, providing you with a nice mix of news and trailers for upcoming films. If there's something that you'd like to see us cover in more detail, please let us know.
