Many of you know that the Star Wars films are getting re-released in 3D starting with The Phantom Menace next month, but you may want to save your money and watch this instead. You know how I feel about 3D in general and the new Star Wars trilogy specifically, so this probably doesn't come as much of a surprise.

You may recall that Tim has mentioned something about the Star Wars Uncut project before in his May the Fourth Star Wars day stories, but now that vision has come to fruition. The Star Wars Uncut project tasked everyday people to create a scene by scene recreation of Star Wars 15 seconds at a time. Once completed, all of the submissions were edited together to re-create the entire movie.

Well, the complete movie is finished and it's actually not bad at all. While I was concerned that it would look like a drunken Frankenstein, the clips actually work and despite the varying styles and formats, Star Wars Uncut plays as its own creation but still maintains the feel and impact of the original movie.

Now, you can watch it online below. That's right, it's right here for you free of charge. If that's not better than paying $20 to see a bad movie in 3D, then I don't know what is.

Oh, and if you were concerned about whether Han or Greedo shot first, I won't spoil it, but Star Wars Uncut makes sure that there is no question as to who shot first. Let us know what you think.
