Remember back a week ago when new Star Wars news was assuredly coming? Well, here we are a week later and there's no sign of casting announcements or that mythical teaser trailer said to feature Mark Hamill's Luke Skywalker.

Of course, that doesn't mean that the folks over at LucasFilm/Disney aren't above having a bit of fun at our expense. The official Star Wars YouTube channel has release two teaser trailers in the last week.

First, they pushed out the teaser for Star Wars, which if you haven't seen it yet, stop reading and go below and watch it. It's just so odd to see that film marketed without the iconic John Williams score and in such a heavy 1970s style.

Well, today they went ahead and released the teaser trailer for, what else, The Empire Strikes Back. While this teaser does include plenty of John Williams sounds, it doesn't actually include any real footage. In its stead are beautiful paintings by Ralph McQuarrie that do a great job of building excitement for the film.

For me, the best part of this teaser is the line, "And introducing Lando Calrissian."

So, in a way, we did get a couple of teaser trailers for Star Wars, just not the ones that we were expecting. Don't worry, we'll keep our eyes peeled for any Episode VII news and will report it posthaste.
