'Identity Thief' comes clean with new images, trailer

After her breakout role in last year's hit Bridesmaids, Melissa McCarthy could pretty name her next project. The film that she chose was Identity Thief and why not?

It stars the incredibly funny and talented Jason Bateman and features a dynamic cast the should help to ensure that McCarthy maintains the momentum that she got after Bridesmaids. After checking out the first trailer this morning, courtesy of Yahoo! Movies, it's evident that she also took the role because it's a plump and juicy one that will allow her to showcase her trademark zany style.

While the premise of the film makes me wonder how long they can get away with their antics, it's pretty obvious from the trailer that there's a whole lot more going on than just a simple identity theft. I enjoyed it for the most part and I'm looking forward to the next trailer where we will hopefully get a bit more story.

Universal also dropped the first two posters for the February 8, 2013 film today. You can see them to the right and below.
