'Brave' shoots straight to DVD/Blu-ray on November 13

Pixar's Brave is ready to declare its independence on DVD & Blu-ray on November 13. The latest from the steady Pixar stable has taken in nearly $230 million at the box office since its debut in theaters on June 22.

The first Pixar film to be directed by a woman (Brenda Chapman), Brave tells the story of Scottish princess Merida who clashes with her mother over her desire to live her own life and not the preordained one that her birthright demands. A big bear and an ancient curse stand in the path between Merida and her future.

Brave will be available on DVD and Blu-ray combo pack, as well as in a 5-disc combo pack that includes the 3D Blu-ray, Blu-ray, DVD and Digital Copy editions of the film. In addition, the Blu-ray combo packs will include the following bonus features:

The DVD will carry a suggested retail price of $21.99, while the Blu-ray combo pack will SRP at $39.99. The 5-disc combo pack has an SRP of $49.99. The artwork is below and a special video announcing the availability on DVD and Blu-ray.
