Battlefield Earth Finds A Sci-Fi Convention To Call Home

It earned around $21 million at the box office and several Razzie Award nominations but now Battlefield Earth is getting some serious interest.

A sci-fi convention being held in England offered John Travolta $700,000 to appear at the convention celebrating his "turkey of a movie." Fans of the movie will get to see a director's cut version of the flick and also attend a sci-fi ball.

Battlefield Earth Clan spokeswomen says, "We really would love John to come over for this...I know the movie had bad press, but it really has become a cult piece of cinema in a few people's eyes." The cash offered to John was put up by a millionaire fan who is a member of the group who loves the movie because of its "atrociousness."
