'Amazing Spider-Man' poster promises a different story

Not to be outdone by today's poster reveal for The Dark Knight Rises, The Amazing Spider-Man also debuted its first poster over the weekend.

You can see that this Summer is going to be one hell of a battle between two iconic comic book heroes. The only thing missing is Superman, but don't worry he will be back in 2013.

My biggest concern with The Amazing Spider-Man is that it will simply be rehash of the earlier Spider-Man movies. It seems that I'm not the only one with this concern as they went on the offensive to claim that this is "The Untold Story."

We do know that this installment will focus on the Gwen Stacy romance and not the Mary Jane character, so that is different, but beyond that, how much can it really be different? The first teaser trailer left me rather nonplussed, but this poster is intriguing so the jury is still out for me.

What about you? The Amazing Spider-Man will debut in theaters on July 3, 2012.
