One of the most highly anticipated comic book movies in the pipeline is next year's Green Lantern. With Comic Con right around the corner, it doesn't take a genius to figure out that we might finally get our first shot of Ryan Reynolds as Hal Jordan's alter ego.

Well, Entertainment Weekly has gotten the scoop and ahead of next week's con, Reynolds' visage as Green Lantern will grace the cover of their magazine. Not to be beaten to the press by the more timely Internet leak, EW released an online version of their cover that can be seen below.

Now, as any longtime reader can attest, I am far, far, far from a comic book fan boy. But, given my penchant for watching comic book movies, I feel as though I can weigh in on my thoughts concerning the look of the character.

When it was leaked that most of Reynolds' costume would be rendered through CG, a collective moan whimpered throughout the comics world. Computer-generated or not, I can tell you that I don't particularly care for the costume. In a word, it looks as gimmicky as those "bat nipples" (shudder) were on Joel Schumacher's Batman & Robin costumes.

While the "lines" might attempt to recreate the fibrous nature and composition of the muscles underneath, why do I have a sneaky suspicion that will glow (through the the magic of CG) when the ring is activated?

Still, despite my initial trepidation, I realize that this is simply a still and it's hard to make a judgment on that alone. So, I will reserve my final verdict on the costume until I get to see a trailer and can see it in motion.

What do you think of the new costume?
