The Top 250 movies of all-time as a subway map

Sometimes you discover something very cool but yet you have not way of explaining it. That's exactly what happened when I first saw this transit map of the best movies of all-time.

Designer David Honnorat has taken IMDb's list of the Top 250 films and diagramed them as a map of intersecting genre lines. It all looks like New York subway map -- and, as someone who's never lived in NYC, it's just as confusing.

The first line of "Universally-Acclaimed Masterpieces" is obviously the heart of it all. From there you can travel down some very interesting routes. The 11th line of "Dramas About Tolerance" has to be my favorite. The jump from Casablanca to WALL-E is an interesting one.

Below I've presented the map as two halves for legibility. You can also view/download bigger versions from the French Vodkaster.com site.
