Faux trailer for 2012 improves upon the official trailer

Some of you may remember back in May when we talked about a certain fan-made trailer for Green Lantern. This time we're back with a new mash-up that has tickled not only our funny bones, but our creative juices as well.

For not only does this wicked creation satisfy our desire for grindhouse style, 1970s movie trailers (over the top anyone?), but it also delivers in the natural disaster department. And let's face it, if anyone had it coming it's Roland Emmerich, who has been destroying the world in new and exciting ways since Independence Day.

Thirteen years later (seriously has it really been that long?), he's back with a Mayan prophecy disaster movie like no other. You may recall that we really gushed over the visuals back then, but that was before we saw this.

This little ditty made by Garrison Dean and making the rounds on the Internet (we first saw it on /Film) is so well done that it could have conceivably been done by Sony to be a perfect buzz generator for this Winter's end of the world yarn.

2012 hits theaters on November 13, but sadly will most certainly not have as cool a soundtrack as this faux trailer. Peep the mix below and let us know what you think.
