MTV's first look at the new 'Friday the 13th' (video)

Are you paraskevidekatriaphobic? If so, don't look at the calendar and do not watch the following set visit to next year's Friday the 13th re-interpretation.

Yes, that's right. It's another example of Hollywood taking a classic horror movie and remaking it for no good reason.

This version will focus heavily on the goalie-masked killer Jason Voorhees. The imposing Derek Mears stars in the role.

Michael Bay and his Platinum Dunes production company are behind this one. They've also done remakes of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, The Amityville Horror, and The Hitcher.

Friday the 13th co-stars Amanda Righetti, Jared Padalecki, and Danielle Panabaker. The Texas Chainsaw Massacre and Pathfinder director Marcus Nispel helms.

Very appropriately, the movie is set to wrap principal photography today. It'll be in theaters on Feb. 13, 2009 -- Yes, that's a Friday.
