Director James Cameron and producer Jon Landau announced on Tuesday that new bonus feature-rich DVDs of their blockbuster epic Titanic will be coming this fall. Both a two-disc special edition and a four-disc collector's edition will be released by Paramount Home Entertainment in October.
The DVDs will include 58 minutes of deleted scenes and feature a new digital transfer of the film with Dolby 6.1 sound. However, don't expect an alternate version of the movie. "I feel very good about the [original] cut of the film," Cameron said at an event announcing the upcoming releases.
Commentary, presumably from at least Cameron, will also be included with the feature. The four-disc set will contain all the items of the double disc release and much more.
The original, bare-bones DVD release of Titanic in 1999 was the first movie in the new format to sell more than a million units.
