...And Britney gets the marriage annulled

Oh, what a wild weekend for the princess of pop. In an outrageous moment, Britney Spears married childhood friend Jason Allen Alexander in Las Vegas at 5:30 a.m. Saturday morning. Just hours later they had already made arrangements for the annulment.

The annulment will be made official when filed in a Las Vegas court this morning. Britney released a statement through her record company, Jive Records, saying, they "took a joke too far by getting married." (Because entering into a legal union and a sanctity meant to last forever is always hilarious.)

It remains to be seen if Jason Alexander is an old flame of Britney's, now rekindled, or just a passing fancy. According to various reports the two spent Christmas Eve together as well as New Year's Eve.
