Kate Winslet 'Too Famous' To Be A Neighbor

Oscar-nominated actress Kate Winslet and loverboy Sam Mendes had their eyes set on a $2.7 million flat in the SoHo district, but the owners denied their application.

Current residents voted against the famous couple moving in so the owner had to tell them oh so sorry. Evidently, everyone felt Kate was too famous and the Titanic star would hinder "communal activities."

One prospective neighbor put it this way, "How are we going to ask Kate to come and fix the furnace?" Like she would anyway...American Beauty at its best!
