Honest sheriff Jim Hanley is the only obstacle preventing crooked saloon owner Vic Landreau from seizing complete control of the Gila Valley. Expecting trouble, Hanley sends for his old pals Billy the Kid Carson and Fuzzy. Billy arrives in town and discovers that Hanley has been murdered and Landreau is backing his crooked flunkey, Deputy Ed Slade, in the election for sheriff. Billy announces that his pal, Fuzzy, is going to run for sheriff against Slade. When Landreau sends his gunmen out to get rid of the newcomers once and for all, he finds that Billy is a force to be reckoned with.

Olympic swimmer and Gold Medal winner Buster Crabbe rose to fame in 1933's Tarzan the Fearless. In 1936 he played the comic-strip character in the popular serial, Flash Gordon. Replacing Bob Steele in 1941, Crabbe was teamed with Al St. John in nearly three dozen Billy the Kid westerns. In Billy the Kid's Round-Up, the duo are backed by a strong supporting cast which includes Joan Barclay, Charles King and Glenn Strange. In the 1950s Crabbe would again find success on the small screen when he starred in the series Captain Gallant Of The Foreign Legion.
