Jerry Holden, upright, law-abiding son of a peace officer, just went from hero to zero: He and the community learn to their horror that he's actually the son of a lowdown outlaw. Will Jerry now be forced to ride the bandit trail?

Marshal Holden adopted Jerry as a tot, and he and Holden's same-aged son grew up as brothers. The marshal and his sons arrive in Coldwater, Colorado, where a gang of claim jumpers are preying on miners. Crooked banker Uriah Martin, wants to get his greedy hands on the marshal's rich mine, and has the lawman killed. When the marshal's will is read, Jerry's true parentage is revealed. Framed for murder, Jerry may need to live the rest of his days outside the law.

In real life, this movie's villain Stuart Hamblen lived the opposite experience: One of radio's first singing cowboys, he boozed, gambled and brawled to the point where he called himself the "original juvenile delinquent." But this preacher's son turned himself around at a Billy Graham crusade. He became a Christian broadcaster and wrote songs, including "It Is No Secret (What God Can Do)" and "This Ole House." He also was the Prohibition Party's presidential candidate in 1952!

BONUS: DVD also includes an episode of the Roy Rogers TV show.
