Galia "Lia" Williams is a successful Afro Latina attorney in Los Angeles who after getting dumped days before Christmas realizes her life is lacking meaningful relationships. After avoiding going home for 5 years since the loss of her mother and her best friend, Lia decides to give up her hard-earned, lavish lifestyle and go back home so that she won't have to be completely alone on Christmas.
