Among America's great comedians, Red Skelton is certainly one of the most beloved. Along with his cast of hilarious characters, including Clem Kadiddlehopper, San Fernando Red, and of course, Freddie the Freeloader, Red Skelton entertained us for decades with his charm, wit and warmth on his hit television program. Movie and television stars lined up to appear on his show, and week after week, for more than 20 years, they entertained us and themselves in countless hilarious skits. At the end of the program, Skelton would become serious and express his gratitude to his audience for their love and laughter. His signature closing line became "Good night and may God bless."
