Part "women in prison" film, part political thriller, Chess Game is an engrossing tale of corruption, sex, power, friendship and revenge.
Mina (Priscila Fantin) is sittng in one of Rio de Janeiro's most corrupt prisons after taking the fall for a Senator (Antonio Calloni) in a social security fraud scandal. To survive, Mina, along with two other women, Beth (Carla Marins) and Martona (Luana Xavier) has established a power base by selling drugs and other goods smuggled into the facility by her sister, Julienne (Cinda Fellico). Believing that Mina will eventually rat him out, the senator bribes the prison's warden (Tuca Andrada) to kill her, setting the stage for a deadly game of cat and mouse between prison officials and the three women.
