Last Ride on the Midwest Pacific

On the night before NAN and POPS move to a retirement community in the southern Midwest, their scattered family reunites. Repressed tensions are provoked revealing unmentionable family secrets. RAE returns home to check on her ailing and overbearing mother, NAN, before her resistant relocation to a retirement community. NAN holds deep-seated resentment towards her husband, POPS, for his past marital indiscretions while working on the Midwestern Pacific railroad line. POPS divulges family secrets to RAE that are embarrassing to NAN and he attempts to atone and compensate for the mistakes of his past. RAE'S son, TRAVIS, admires POPS and discusses his plans to leave town and start a new life elsewhere. Tensions run high on this emotional night resulting in the discovery of a few skeletons in the closet and unbeknownst plans for the future that change this diasporic family forever.
