Legend of the Ruby Silver is an old-fashioned adventure film for the whole family. John Schneider (Bo Duke of The Dukes of Hazzard) plays Tommy Towne, a mining promoter and conman who, with help of his drunk sidekick Bill McLean (Bruce Weitz, Sgt. Mick Belker of Hill Street Blues), takes the lovely widow Kay Rainie (Rebecca Jenkins, Bye Bye Blues) and her troubled son Matt (Jonathan Jackson, TV's Nashville) on a treasure hunt into the mountains to find the long dead Ruby Silver mine. But along the way, self-discovery marks the journey of the four dreamers seeking riches at the legendary mine. Teleplay by Pete White (TV's Da Vinci's Inquest) and directed by TV and documentary veteran Charles Wilkinson (TV's Highlander).
