Remastered from an archival 35mm print courtesy of the William Alland estate.

During a heat wave, a "peeping tom" brings cold terror to a neighborhood populated by skirt-chasers, alcoholics and their desperate housewives.

In a reverse twist on the era's popular juvenile delinquency movies, the teenagers here strive to be decent while their parents are neurotic, unfaithful and dysfunctional. The Fowlers' shy son (played by teen idol Paul Anka) is just a lonely boy donning a mask in order to peer into neighbors' windows to learn what a more normal home-life might be like. Young Eileen next door is a nice girl with a sub-bourbon boor of a dad and a sex-starved mother. Tensions rise, tempers flare, and the old saying "People in glass houses shouldn't throw parties" comes true the night of the Lowells' Fourth of July bash when there are more fireworks on their patio than in the sky!

Look in Any Window is the sole directing credit on the resume of William Alland, who is best remembered as the producer of the 1950s classics, The Creature From the Black Lagoon and This Island Earth among many others. Look in Any Window was criticized for its frank depiction of a "respectable" neighborhood where adults only pretend to be good parents - until they think no one is looking.

Bonus materials include:

  • The Man Who Pursued Rosebud, The life of William Alland from his early start as a cast member in Citizen Kane to his illustrious career as a film producer.
  • William Alland and H.U.A.C.
