History comes alive in this vivid recreation of the amazing life of Pedro de Gante, the Franciscan missionary who Christianized the pagan Aztecs in the 16th century.
In 1523, Pedro de Gante arrived via Spanish galleon in the Gulf of Mexico, the New World's first Christian missionary. The scholarly churchman used "peaceful persuasion" to introduce the natives to the teachings of Jesus Christ, and established schools, hospitals and churches that changed the lives of the Aztecs. This inspirational slice of ecclesiastic life was made at some of the actual locales, by writer-producer-director Fanchon Royer, president of the Catholic Film and Radio Guild.
Bonus Material: "The Man Who Walked On Water" (B&W) from the television series "Crossroads" with Maureen O. Sullivan, Alan Mowbray, Rex Ingram, William Prince.
