Columbia isn't taking any chances on its high profile sequel to Jumanji. The script has been in development for the last six years and Columbia has already invested millions of dollars in the project, to no avail.
Now, Columbia has optioned the rights to "Zathura," a new book from Jumanji author Chris Van Allsburg. "Zathura" also involves a magical game board but moves the the action from Earth to across the galaxy.
It wasn't immediately known if "Zathura" would be developed as Jumanji 2, Jumanji 3 or a stand alone project.
