I saw Iggy Pop open for Pearl Jam in 1998. I remember then how impressed I was that this living legend was out there rocking and despite being 50 back then. So, imagine how impressed I was when I saw him in this week's new film Blood Orange.

As a vital part of the American punk scene, it's rather surprising that the rocker has lived to 70 while many of his peers succumbed to the lifestyle. Much like contemporary Keith Richards, he is ageless in spirit and his passion for film is evident in his portrayal of Bill. Of course, it doesn't hurt that Bill is an aging rock story himself, so Iggy is perfectly suited for the role.

What you don't expect though is the sudden right turn that his character takes and the lengths to which he will go to preserve his love for his much younger and promiscuous wife. Bill's wife Isabelle is played by Kacey Barnfield and you have probably seen her make the rounds if you're a fan of horror films, but here she is given a much juicier role and she delivers.

But the real star naturally is Iggy Pop who is one that never met a shirt that he likes and despite pushing 70, he is still in better shape than many people half his age. In this exclusive clip from the film, you see just how far he's willing to go for love.

Blood Orange is available today on DVD.
