The giants arrive in first full-length 'BFG' trailer

It's been a long, long time since I last read Roald Dahl's The BFG. My own kids are a few years short of being the prime demographic of this film and I'm too old to remember all of the little details of that story of a big, friendly giant.

For instance, I don't remember if there were evil giants in the story, but it makes sense that there would be in the film adaptation because without them, there isn't much of a story to tell, now is there? What I can tell you is that Steven Spielberg is uniquely qualified to bring this story to life on the big screen.

I'm glad that my kids will have this film be as much a part of the playlist of their childhood as The Neverending Story was of mine. This film has all the earmarks of becoming an instant family classic that will be watched over and over until the disc breaks.

The BFG is set to debut in theaters on July 1. What do you think?
