When I heard that there were making yet another Frankenstein movie, I groaned. Haven't we butchered that tale to death (no pun intended)?

I would have thought that last year's abysmal bomb I, Frankenstein would finally put the last nail in that coffin, but I was wrong. Fox is determined to resurrect the story one more time with their latest effort Victor Frankenstein. Can you detect the apathy in my voice?

Well, the first trailer debuted this weekend and while I can't say that I'm rushing out to get in line, it certainly is an interesting take on the story and it sort of piques my curiosity.

Victor Frankenstein stars James McAvoy as the titular mad scientist and Daniel Radcliffe as his trusty sidekick Igor. Yes, the one with the famous hump.

Apparently, Frankenstein and Igor are bros this time around and they are infinitely more cool here than in possibly any other incarnation of their characters. I got a real Sherlock Holmes vibe and it's really not too surprising as that film made a cool $209 million at the box office and spawned a sequel. Overall, the visuals are stunning, but I'm not sure how I feel about this whole bro relationship in this context. It just feels a bit forced and while there are things I like about this trailer, I just don't buy Daniel Radcliffe as Igor.

Victor Frankenstein hits theaters on Thanksgiving.
