Brawl With Mariah Carey Is False Says Mira Sorvino

Several reports have claimed that songbird Mariah Carey and Oscar winner Mira Sorvino fought on the set of the upcoming film Wise Girls. Sorvino is now denying those rumors in a statement. She called a People magazine report "irresponsible journalism." The magazine reported that Mariah threw a salt shaker at Mira. The publication also quotes one of the film's producer saying the two wrestled to the ground during shooting.

There does seem to be something at the heart of these rumors. A publicist for Sorvino said the alleged fight was "ridiciously blown up", reports E Online, making one believe there was indeed a fight, but maybe not as extreme as we have been led to believe.

Carey was hospitalized recently for an emotional and physical breakdown due to her full schedule as a top-selling singer and now as an actress. In her statement, Sorvino wished Mariah a speedy recovery.

Wise Girls recently wrapped filming in Indiana and is set for release in early 2002. The film is helmed by Hoosiers and Rudy director David Anspaugh.
