Star Wars Celebration is going to be streamed live

We all had a pretty good idea that this week's Star Wars Celebration was going to be huge, but when information started to leak out last month that J.J. Abrams and Kathleen Kennedy were going to kick off the event, the anticipation went through the roof. If that wasn't enough to make me jealous, it was soon announced that a new trailer and the first teaser poster would be making their debuts at this event.

If I lived on the west coast, I would be there. Unfortunately (or fortunately), I do not live on the left coast, so I will be here at work like many of you, dreaming of those lucky folks seeing footage from Star Wars: The Force Awakens. Well, fear not, StarWars.com has your back. Starting this Thursday at 10:00 a.m. PST, they stream over 30 hours of live coverage on their site with help from Verizon.

Included in this stream will be the kickoff panel featuring Abrams and Kennedy in which the teaser poster and new trailer is said to debut. What's even better is that if you're unable to watch live, don't worry. They are also planning to post on demand clips of the highlights for those that might be stuck in an important meeting or, you know, bringing your first-born child into this world.

Star Wars Celebration runs through Sunday afternoon and they will be live-streaming throughout the event, supplementing live panels with interviews with cast and crew from the Star Wars universe from a mockup of the Mos Eisley Cantina.
