Five 2014 films I missed that I vow to see in 2015...

I love my family, I do. Don't get me wrong, I wouldn't trade them for anything in the world, but having two toddlers running around the house definitely cuts into my movie watching time.

It takes some adjustment, but I think I'm finally starting to get the hang of it where I can balance family time and movie time. A man can only watch Frozen so many times before his brain explodes.

That being said, some films still slip through the cracks. Time is limited after all and choices must be made. I had to make some tough ones in 2014, but overall I'm happy with all of the films that I saw this year. However, there are a few that I'm dying to see, so I thought I'd go on the record to make sure I don't let them slip through the crack yet again.

So, here are five 2014 films that I promise to watch in 2015. I'll update my progress on each in the weekly MMs and you'll be there to keep me honest.

  • Chef

It doesn't take much to figure out that I like to eat and I like films, so this seems like a no-brainer. It also doesn't hurt that I like pretty much everything that Jon Favreau touches. I think I'll make some Cuban sandwiches and schedule a date night with my better half soon.

  • Birdman

This could easily be the best film of 2014 and I'm sort of beating myself up for not finding time to see this one yet, but don't worry, I will correct that quickly. This is sure to be an Oscar darling, so I hope to see it before the end of February.

  • Foxcatcher

I'm a sucker for true story films and this one is about as bizarre as they come. With numerous Oscar-caliber performances, I'm sure this one will be another one that I get to earlier rather than later.

  • Lucy

What's with all of the one word titles? This one is a bit of a guilty pleasure, but I'm not in as much of a rush to see it as the others, so I may need some reminders as the year progresses. I've heard some mixed things on the film, but the concept intrigues me, so I'll give it a watch.

  • Unbroken

I thought the book was simply amazing and the film looks to do it justice, so it's on my must-see list. The late release in the year is pretty much the only reason that I haven't seen it yet, but I'll see it soon enough.

What about you? What films from 2014 did you miss that you want to see in 2015?
