First-ever Emoji movie trailer for 'The Other Woman'

The Age of the Smart Phone 📱 has brought us Emoji. Even if you don't recognize the name, surely you've seen the little pictographs people insert into text messages, Facebook comments, etc. Rising from Japan, the tiny icons are taking over the world. 🌎

Today, in a landmark event set to go down in the annals of movie marketing history, 20th Century Fox 🎥 released the first-ever Emoji fueled trailer.

Say huh? 😨

Yeah, it's just a silly gimmick to get you to watch their preview for The Other Woman starring Cameron Diaz, Leslie Mann, and Kate Upton. Give it a watch, won't you? 😎

I'm sure you agree that it's pretty silly. I also think it's pretty clever. 👏 The revenge comedy is targeted predominantly at female audiences. These same female audiences are probably very aware of Emoji and use them on a daily basis. (I can't deny that I use them too.) That small "in" can really endear the film to them. ❤️

As for guys, the only worlds need spoken are Kate Upton. The likeness of the Sports Illustrated swimsuit model can't be translated to Emoji. 🙈

The Other Woman hits theaters on April 25. 🎬
