Angelina Jolie is scary in 'Maleficent' trailer

Disney sure isn't doing me any favors with its upcoming film Maleficent. Who wants to set the over/under on the amount of times I misspell that title between now and its release date?

What is clear is that this film has almost been under the radar what with all of the other big happenings at Disney in the last year or so. To be honest, all I really knew about it was that it was a live-action adaptation of Disney's Sleeping Beauty and Angelina Jolie was set to play the titular role.

Fast forward to today and suddenly we've got a poster (see right) and a trailer and they are both really solid. Elle Fanning looks great as Princess Aurora, aka Briar Rose, aka Sleeping Beauty and I'm really looking forward to seeing her back on the big screen.

I loved the forest of thorns, but the one big missing element that Disney has thankfully kept under wraps until closer to release is Maleficent's dragon which, as I recall, was a huge part of the story and if done well here could go a long way towards deciding Maleficent's fate at the box office.

Maleficent is set to debut at theaters on May 30, 2014.
