For this morning's quickie, I decided to turn to the vast world of Star Wars to get this Thursday off to a good start. As many of you know by now, John Williams has been tapped to continue creating the score for the Star Wars universe in Episode VII and beyond.

This is great news naturally, because let's face it, in many ways John Williams and his great scores make the franchise so amazing. Replacing Williams would be like dubbing Pee Wee Herman's voice in for Darth Vader.

Of course, Williams' involvement in this new trilogy was anything but certain given his advanced age and the fact that director J.J. Abrams almost exclusively works with composer Michael Giacchino. Regardless, I still expect for Giacchino to be involved in the process even if it's simply to observe because having such a talented backup is never a bad thing.

Well, maybe it is. Giacchino and comedian Ben Schwartz decided that it might be fun to update the Imperial March. Below is the "fruit" of their labor.

Naturally, the point was to be funny, but you know I actually dig the fresh take on the sound, but I think Ben might want to stick to acting rather than singing.

In other Episode VII rumors, Latino Review, which is the Cadillac of Star Wars rumor sites, claims that Saoirse Ronan went in to read for a part in the film. Their source didn't have details as to which part she read for, but Latino Review speculated it could be for Han and Leia's daughter or a female villain.

In the same story, they also debunked Benedict Cumberbatch's denials that he has been cast in the new Star Wars trilogy. They stand by their source. "HE IS IN THE MOVIE!" Capitalization and the use of bold text is exactly how they said it.

As with all Star Wars rumors, I'd take them with a huge grain of salt, but it's still fun to speculate.
