Bikinis & big booties rule 'Spring Breakers' trailer

You know I'm shocked quite frankly that Tim didn't include Spring Breakers on his list of sleepers for this year. I wouldn't have even known about this film had he not been talking about it at least once a day for the last six months.

In the end, I'm glad he did pimp it out, because I took notice when the official trailer came out earlier this week. Really, this movie sort of sells itself. Selena Gomez, Vanessa Hudgens and Ashley Benson spend practically the entire film in a bikini and shoot a bunch of guns.

What's not to like?

Up until now we've had a few provocative stills from the film and a couple of interesting posters, but now we get a full trailer for the March 22 release. And? Well, it's exactly as advertised and given that it coincides with actual Spring Break, I think it will find a modest audience.

What interests me the most though is that it's directed by Harmony Korine, who also directed the interesting and entertaining films Gummo and Julien Donkey-Boy. He also wrote Kids, so I'm holding out hope that there's more here than simply titillating eye candy.

As he is wont to do, James Franco shows up as a barely recognizable thug. Are you really shocked? I didn't think so.
