Matthew McConaughey gets 'Mud' on his hands

Matthew McConaughey sure had himself a banner year in 2012, but his biggest film of the year might not have even been released yet. Last May in Cannes, he made some international waves with his performance in a little film called Mud.

It was described as a bit Huckleberry Finn and a whole lot of Stand By Me. Needless to say that when I heard that, my curiosity was piqued.

Naturally with a newborn in the house, I quickly forgot about the film. So much so, that when I compiled my list of sleepers (coming soon) for 2013, it didn't even register on my radar.

After seeing the trailer that dropped today, I wish I would have included it in my review. Heck, I might just go back and add it in as a bonus. I know that it should definitely be a hit and continue the roll that McConaughey is on.
