Samuel L. Jackson and Anne Hathaway get sad this Christmas

Christmas is less than a week away and already anticipation is building. No, this has nothing to do with toys, Santa or sugar plums dancing in anyone's head.

Christmas Day marks the great "Sad Off." On a day that is normally reserved for family joy and an overabundance of glee, Hollywood has deemed it mandatory that you will cry if you decide to take in a film on Christmas.

That's because there's so much sadness and gloom in Les Miserables and Django Unchained that Kleenex is giving away a specially designed personal wipe to help mop up all those tears. Ok, that's not entirely true, but they are both wonderful, yet depressing, films that sort of go against the spirit of the day.

Enter the films' stars Samuel L. Jackson and Anne Hathaway, who shockingly have never worked in a film together, for an old-fashioned "Sad Off" courtesy of FunnyOrDie. What's a "Sad Off" you ask?

Well, it's just about the funniest thing you'll see related to these two dour films. Now, there are a few small, very minor spoilerish things in here, but really it doesn't ruin either films. Basically, people die in both films, shocker!

And yes, I would have posted this video just to share the Kangol Santa hat with the world.
