Final 'Skyfall' trailer nails it

First, Sony got all tricky with the "Super Trailer." Then, it decided to focus only on Bond's resurrection for the second trailer. Finally, I can proclaim that Sony nailed it with this latest two minute trailer for Skyfall.

In a word, it's perfect.

Every element of James Bond is in the trailer (well, except for a nice martini, but that's a quibble for another day) and it's perfectly paced with a nice mix of story and action that literally makes me wish I lived on the other side of the pond so I could go out and see it next week.

Alas, I live in the good ole USA and we have to wait until it debuts over here on November 9. The film also opens up on IMAX world-wide on December 1.

Speaking of IMAX, the trailer below isn't the only thing that the marketing elves over at Sony brought out today. They also debuted this nifty IMAX poster that really captures all of the iconic images of James Bond. Interestingly, there is no mention of Skyfall at all on the poster.

The only thing added to the image (other than the necessary studio logos) is "007" and "IMAX 12:01." But really, it doesn't need anything else, the iconic images sell themselves.

Over at The Economist, they created this awesome infographic comparing the six James Bonds. Naturally, I'm a sucker for any infographic worth its salt, but this one was actually quite interesting.

Pierce Brosnan had the most bloodlust of his fellow Bonds, killing an average 19 villains per film, while George Lazenby of all Bonds was the womanizer of the bunch. If you're looking for the Bond most likely to join AA, that would be Daniel Craig who drinks far more per film that his predecessors and also beds the least amount of women.

Huh, I wonder what they're trying to say there? Well, one thing is going in Craig's favor, his per-screen martini average is going to take a serious hit after Skyfall because Heineken paid a hefty sum to insure that he only drinks beer in this film.

I really don't know how I feel about that. But, what I really do feel great about is this trailer. Check it out and let us know what you think.
