Honest Trailers strikes gold with 'The Avengers'

Every now and then, Tim and I like to share some of our favorite movie-related things that are tickling our funny bones. I may have mentioned them before on Twitter or not, but regardless it's time to shed a little light on Honest Trailers over at Screen Junkies.

The general gist is just what it sounds like, they create an "honest" trailer that more often than not makes us laugh at the absurdity of even some of our most adored films. For instance, take The Avengers (which also coincidentally debuts on DVD and Blu-ray today) which is a movie that many people absolutely loved, to the tune of $622.2 million at the box office.

And yet, even with so much universal love for the film, it wasn't hard for the peeps at Screen Junkies to make us laugh for over three and a half minutes. If you don't believe me, check it out below.

While this series has been popping up periodically over at Screen Junkies, we were pleased to scope out on their YouTube page that they are going to post a new "Honest Trailer" every other Friday starting next month. Given the plethora of films that can use this treatment, I don't think they'll be running out of source material any time soon.
