Well, it's Monday. There's really not much else to say, is there?

If you're anything like me, you dread that first day of a new work week. Now, don't get me wrong, I love my job but even the best job in the world requires plenty of caffeine to get our motors running on Monday morning.

Unfortunately, as an entertainment website, the weekends usually uncover a vast amount of somewhat newsworthy stories that I figure you, as our wonderful readers, might like to be informed about. Let's face it, celebrities like to party on the weekends and we get to read all about it on Monday.

So, if this idea takes off and you all like it (no really, give us a yay or nay on this new column), consider this your weekly little primer for the weekend that was in the world of film and celebrity. You know, so that when you meet up with Billy to get that third or fourth cup of Joe that will hopefully finally make your eyelids stay open, you'll be able to pass along the latest Hollywood remake news or what crazy escapades your favorite leading actor got into over the weekend.

While there will certainly be links below so that you can get the full scoop on each story, I hope to add at least a few words of insight to make the column a bit interesting. I make no promises though that it will wake you up.

You're on your own with that one. Although, I strongly recommend a few cups of coffee with plenty of sugar. Don't worry, no one will notice your sugar crash in the afternoon.

Box Office 411

Let's face it, one of the most interesting stories of the weekend will always be the box office report on Monday morning. It's like going to the doctor when the nurse takes your vitals. The early box office report is like your blood pressure or pulse, it's mostly benign, but it could underscore serious problems ahead.

Take this weekend for example. Madagascar 3 continued its reign at the top for a second consecutive weekend with a healthy $35 million, but the story wasn't at the top this week. No, this week is all about a couple of flops that might signal the end for one of Hollywood's most bankable stars.

That's My Boy was the movie that convinced Andy Samberg that it was time to cut ties with SNL and pursue movies full-time. As the old adage goes, Andy might not want to quit his day job. Although, let's be honest, it's not fair to blame Samberg for this bomb.

Nope, this turd falls right at the feet of another SNL vet, Adam Sandler. As amazing as he was early in his career with three hitmakers in a row with Billy Madison, Happy Gilmore and The Waterboy, he has been equally terrible in the last three stinkers Just Go With It, Jack and Jill and That's My Boy.

Has Sony's golden boy become a lead anchor? I think so.

Elsewhere, Rock of Ages hit all the wrong notes with a measly $15 million. Perhaps Julianne Hough should go back to dancing. At least there the only thing she has to worry about is an untimely wardrobe malfunction.

Get all the numbers behind the numbers from Box Office Mojo.

Glitter Reboot

Just when you thought it was safe to go back to theaters, you realize that those glittery vamps from the Twilight saga JUST WON'T DIE! As it stands, the last installment of the franchise, The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 2, is set to hit theaters on November 16, but it might not be the end.

Bloody Disgusting reported that with Lionsgate's acquisition of Summit (the studio behind the Twilight films) there have already been discussions on how to continue the franchise. There could be additional sequels, spinoffs or, gasp, even a reboot of the whole series.

Yes, that's right, a planned reboot before the first series is even completed. Can you imagine if Warner Bros. were to announce this week that they are rebooting Harry Potter? At this point, sadly I wouldn't be surprised one bit.

Summit has denied the reboot plans, sort of, but you can read the particulars over at Bloody Disgusting.

Shia in the Buff

One of the freakiest things I noticed about the 100th Anniversary Paramount Studios photo shoot besides getting 116 of Hollywood's biggest egos to fit in one sound stage, was the crazy Unabomber beard that Shia LaBeouf. I still don't have an adequate explanation of the beard, but I think it's safe to say that we'll no longer talk about Shia's beard.

It's not unheard of for actors to turn up in music videos. In fact, we wrote earlier this year about Matthew McConaughey reprising Wooderson from Dazed and Confused in a Butch Walker and The Black Widows music video. But, this is something completely different.

Now, I've never gotten into Icelandic band Sigur Rós, but it seems that they've now equaled fellow Icelandic mate Bjork in terms of wackiness. And I never thought was possible.

They released a music video on YouTube for a piano instrumental called Fjögur píanó. I'm certainly not a musical critic, but the haunting vibe of the song is a perfect soundtrack for the visuals. I wish I could accurately describe the bizarre-o factor of this video, but my mind can't even begin to comprehend this video.

But the real take-away from this video will be Shia LaBeouf's schlong. That's right, there's "more than meets the eye" when you realize that the art piece features full-frontal nudity of himself and dancer Denna Thomsen.

Apparently the scraggly beard is nothing compared to Shia's other grooming habits, but hey man-scaping is not for everyone. To say that the video below is NSFW would be understatement. It might not be safe for a sane brain either, so enter at your own risk.

'The Dark Knight Rises' is Already Winning

While The Dark Knight Rises doesn't hit theaters until next month, it seems that the latest Batman movie is already good luck. At least, it is for Dale Earnhardt, Jr.

If there's one sport that I loathe to follow it's NASCAR. But, it seems that Dale Earnhardt, Jr. broke a 143 race drought and won for the first time in years and he had a little help.

His number 88 car was decked out in a special The Dark Knight Rises paint job that I'm sure Warner Bros. doled out a pretty penny for to get some publicity for the upcoming flick. I think mission accomplished as The Dark Knight Rises came in at #1, now it just needs to catch The Avengers starting next month.

So, that concludes our first "Monday Morning Mixer," we hope that you enjoyed it. As I mentioned above, let us know what you thought and if you like it, I'll continue to pump them out each Monday.
