Fan makes killer 'Dark Knight Rises' trailer

If there's one thing that is undeniable, it's that technology has made it so that anyone with a decent computer can make professional quality videos. Case in point, this awesome mashup of The Prestige and The Dark Knight Rises.

YouTube user Dominaz3000 basically took Michael Caine's voiceover from the beginning of The Prestige and played it over footage from Batman Begins, The Dark Knight and The Dark Knight Rises. What makes this trailer stand out from the millions of other fanmade tributes is both the quality and the attention to detail that was taken in making the trailer.

This literally looks like a studio-produced trailer and, dare I say, this trailer moves me so much more than the two official trailers that Warner Bros. released for The Dark Knight Rises. It just goes to show that with technology and the Internet, more people are able to show their artistic flare than ever before.

Even as recently as 20 years ago, Hollywood was a closed-knit community that more resembled a highly exclusive country club that a group of artists coming together in a shared vision. While sure, there are still plenty of barriers to entry to a career in filmmaking, it's a lot easier to get noticed these days.

And you just never know where you'll find the next Citizen Kane.

The Dark Knight Rises hits theaters on July 20, 2012.
