Tom Hanks not only stars in and directs movies memorializing World War II and its' veterans, but the big-hearted actor recently traveled to Normandy to pay tribute to those who lost their lives in the horrific battles.
After visiting the cemetery with flowers, the Saving Private Ryan star screened two episodes of his latest work, Band Of Brothers, with 47 war veterans. "Band Of Brothers" is an HBO miniseries he co-produced with Steven Spielberg. "When I was growing up, the war was part and parcel of who we were. To me, it's a never-ending source of fascination," said Hanks.
