When I mention the 16th President of the United States, Abraham Lincoln, I'm sure that you think of the Civil War, the Emancipation Proclamation or perhaps his famous stovepipe hat. What I bet none of you will immediately think of is vampires.

This Summer Tim Burton and Timur Bekmambetov hope to change that.

In the spirit of full disclosure, I must admit that my man-crush for Bekmambetov is surpassed only by my lust for Kevin Smith and Christopher Nolan. For me, these three represent the Holy Trinity of film making that covers the main genres: comedy, action and drama.

So with that in mind, you had to know that I was holding onto some pretty high expectations for the first footage from Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter. What is impressive is that despite those lofty expectations, the teaser trailer for Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter blew them out of the water.

I know it seems like we've been gushing over a bunch of trailers lately, and while this is true, it only confirms what I suspected early on, that 2012 is going to be a huge year at the box office. This Summer is going to have an epic feel to it as there will literally be a certifiable blockbuster opening each and every week.

So, what about the footage? Well, I'll let you see it and make your own conclusions, but there's just something delightfully dervish-like about seeing Honest Abe swinging an ax and mowing down bloodsuckers. I didn't read the book, but my understanding is that the story revolves around the immigration of vampires from Old Europe and their alliance with slave-owning Southerners.

I guess that means that the Civil War is nothing more than a cover for vampire hunting. I'm down with that. Better yet, I can't wait to see George Washington battle werewolves or William Howard Taft take down an all-you-can-eat buffet in the upcoming sequels.

Take a look and let us know what you think. Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter starts slaughtering the vamps on June 22.
