I know it's 'Wrong,' but why?

One of the few fresh breaths of air to blow through Hollywood last year was French musician turned film director Quentin Dupieux. Much like the tumbleweed antics of his movie's protagonist, a tire, Dupieux practically came out of nowhere, shocked those that saw him and exited stage left, presumably never to be heard from again.

Well, we can officially put that last bit of speculation to rest.

Quentin Dupieux's next film Wrong is set to debut later this month at the Sundance Film Festival. If you thought the idea of a tire coming to life and leaving destruction in its wake was off-kilter, wait until you see where Dupieux has gone with his second film.

Not much is known about the film other that what we can gleam from the trailer above and the official Sundance description below. One thing is certain, I want to know 'why' myself at this point.

WRONG / France (Director and screenwriter: Quentin Dupieux) — Dolph searches for his lost dog, but through encounters with a nympho pizza-delivery girl, a jogging neighbor seeking the absolute, and a mysterious righter of wrongs, he may eventually lose his mind… and his identity.

Why can't I ever get the nympho pizza-delivery girl when I order from Papa John's? But I digress.

It's clear that this film is going to be another unpredictable journey through the slightly off-kilter and warped mind of a brilliant budding film maker. I don't want to get ahead of myself and say that he's got all the earmarks of that other film maker that shares his given name, but he has the ability to connect with the audience and leave them changed and well, that's a pretty big deal.

Here are a couple more scenes that Quentin Dupieux leaked out ahead of Wrong's Sundance debut. The film is scheduled for release in France this Summer and I wouldn't be surprised to see Wrong pick up U.S. distribution at Sundance and see release over here this Fall.
