Nothing says 'I love you' like more 'Die Hard'

The Die Hard franchise is one that has always flirted heavily with the major holidays. The first two installments took place on successive Christmas Eves and the latter two were set in the Summer. I want to believe that they were set around Independence Day, but I don't have any confirmation of that.

What's up with John McClane and the holidays? If I were him, I'd ask for some killer holiday pay.

Well, the conspiracy is about to get a bit murkier. Tom Rothman, the CEO of Fox, divulged to Jim Rome that John McClane will be back for the fifth installment of the franchise on, get this, Valentine's Day 2013. Even more bizarre? In 2013, Valentine's Day falls on a Thursday, not exactly a day known for debuting big theatrical movies.

That's right, at the height of the Summer blockbuster schedule (that's sarcasm, although with the way things are going, by 2013 that might be the start of the Summer blockbuster season), Bruce Willis is going to strap on his white tank top and save the world. Yep, I said the world.

First, it was an office building in L.A. Then, it was the airport in D.C. followed by the entire city of New York. Last time, I suppose you could argue that he saved the entire country. But this time, he's going global.

For A Good Day to Die Hard (catchy title, although I think I would have preferred 'From Russia, with Die Hard'), John McClane goes international when he travels to Moscow to try and get his wayward son out of jail. Naturally, things are not as they appear and I imagine bullets will be flying and shoes will be optional as John McClane saves the world from the ghost of Severus Snape.

OK, I made that last part up, but some of you will get it. The rest of you will have to google it.

A Good Day to Die Hard starts filming in January 2012 and will warm the hearts of lovers everywhere on Valentine's Day 2013.

Yippee-ki-Cupid!
