I've always found the movie poster subculture very interesting. I dig a great, iconic poster and I'm always surprised and confused when movies have shoddy posters.

In the old days, the movie poster was often the only marketing tool that reached audiences. You can argue that in the Internet age, the movie poster isn't as important as say a nifty web site, but there's still something to be said for a poster that can instantly catch your eye and implant an immediate desire to see it.

Of course, the opposite is also true and I've often refused to see films simply based on a terrible poster.

I could go on and on about movie posters, but suffice to say I'm a huge movie buff with posters adorning almost every square inch of the walls in my office and home. Don't believe me?

And no, they aren't all posters for Kevin Smith movies.

Today, we got a ton of new posters from two movies that I'm really looking forward to. Interestingly, they are as different from one another as two movies could get.

A Very Harold & Kumar Christmas looks like a hilarious movie that will soon become an annual holiday staple, while The Hunger Games is a science fiction adventure set in a dystopian future where children fight to the death for honor and glory.

Interestingly, both films released a slew of posters. The character posters from A Very Harold & Kumar Christmas showcase the iconic characters from the movie while the posters for The Hunger Games show the first look at each of the 12 districts of land of Panem.

Enough of the small talk, let's get to the posters!

Lionsgate is releasing all 12 district posters from The Hunger Games one day over the next couple of weeks. So, we'll update this story as each poster is released.
