Lions, Gladiators and Caesars...Oh My!

Because one helping of Ancient Rome is never enough, Dreamworks is working hard at bringing another tale to life from the ruins of the Coliseum. The prequel (sequel?) to last year's Gladiator is currently in early negotiations with Dreamworks.

While there seems to be any number of possible storylines floating around Hollywood these days for Ancient Roman movies, one of the important factors in any movie is casting. Hence the prequel/sequel conundrum over at Dreamworks. Since Aussie hottie Russell Crowe died at the end of the original movie, it would be a little difficult to have him return for a possible sequel. But the prequel angle solves any potential casting problem.

Hmm...time will tell.
