New trailers sizzle for 'Harry Potter,' 'Moneyball' and 'Muppets'

There are few things I enjoy more than waking up on a Friday morning to a bunch of great movie trailers. Today is one of those rare days where each trailer is seemingly better than the last one.

First up is the second (and supposedly last) full-length trailer for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2. I'm a huge Harry Potter fan and I didn't think that they could really improve upon the first trailer, but I was wrong.

This trailer may actually be the best trailer of any movie in the franchise as it encompasses every human emotion and shows just how epic the concluding chapter will be. And yet, the trailer doesn't give away the intricacies that will surely make this a satisfying concluding chapter.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 hits theaters on July 15.

To be honest, I didn't really know much about Moneyball other than it was a hot commodity circling Hollywood for much of the last decade before I watched this trailer. I did know that Brad Pitt championed the project and he's probably the only reason that the movie got made.

After seeing the trailer, I'm quite shocked that this movie languished as long as it did in the cesspool that is Hollywood development hell. It struck me as a serious take on the classic baseball romp Major League.

And the best part? It's all based on a true story. Think of Major League and The Social Network hooking up and having a child and that would be Moneyball.

I woke up this morning with no knowledge about Moneyball and now I can't wait for its release on September 23.

I must say that I'm enjoying the marketing strategy that The Muppets is using for its release in November. They are spoofing big Summer movies and, to be honest, I find their spoofs more enjoyable than the actual trailers.

And really, do we need actual in-depth plot-revealing trailers for a Muppets movie? No, we simply need to know when it opens and we'll show up. It's November 23, by the way and we did get one plot detail from this trailer, it's not in Swedish. Phew!
