First image of Bane from 'Dark Knight Rises' surfaces

Yesterday marked the first day of filming on The Dark Knight Rises and today the official web site for the film launched in a rather unique way. The site (TheDarkKnightRises.com) is simply a black field with a chant that repeats over and over again.

Apparently, the chanting led some people to the Twitter account @TheFireRises which would send you a link if you tweeted with the hash tag #TheFireRises. The link led to this page which is using the twitter pictures of those who tweet the hash tag #TheFireRises to compile a mosaic of a shot of Tom Hardy as Bane.

It's really a pretty cool technique and I recommend that everyone check out the page as the mosaic isn't yet complete. I can only assume that the site and the twitter feed will reveal more as filming continues.

For those of you impatient types, apparently the Facebook page for The Dark Knight Rises released the full image a bit prematurely and you can find it below. Let us know what you think of this first look at Bane.
