The beginning of the end for the Harry Potter on home video starts on April 15. On this date, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1 will be making its debut on DVD and Combo Blu-ray.

Originally crafted as a seven volume book series, the Harry Potter franchise has taken on a life of its own in film and the last book was segmented into two parts to accommodate the massive tome. The Combo Blu-ray is the jewel of this offering, packed with over two and a half hours of bonus features, while the DVD includes a few deleted scenes.

The Blu-Ray Combo pack also includes a sneak peak at an opening scene from Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2, which is set to debut in theaters on July 15, 2011. The suggested retail price for the DVD is $28.98 while the Combo Blu-ray carries a suggested price tag of $35.99.

Here are a few of the special features included in the Blu-Ray Combo pack:

  • Exclusive sneak peek of an opening scene from the final film!
  • Maximum Movie Mode: Join host Jason Isaacs (Lucius Malfoy) and several walk-on cast & crew guests to unravel the mysteries of the Dark Lord’s past and discover the keys to his defeat before it is too late!

    Focus Points:
The Last Days of Privet Drive
    Hagrid's Motorbike
    Amazing (or) Magical Tents!
    Deatheaters attack Cafe
    Creating Dobby and Kreacher
    Godric's Hollow
    The Harry And Nagini Battle
    The Frozen Lake
    The Return of Griphook
  • On the Green with Rupert, Tom, Oliver and James
  • The Seven Harry’s
  • Dan, Rupert, and Emma’s Running Competition
  • Additional Scenes
  • WaterTower Music HARRY POTTER AND THE DEATHLY HALLOWS, PART 1: Behind The Soundtrack

Of particular interest is the "On the Green" featurette where you join the foursome on a round of golf as they talk about and discuss their friendship that has been forged over the last decade of making films together.

There will also be a seven volume set that includes all of the first seven movies in Harry Potter franchise bundled together in case you're late to the party. You can see the art for set above and the art for Combo Blu-ray and DVD versions below.
