Our movie-related New Year's resolutions

It's funny, you would think that as the proprietors of this website, we would watch as many movies as possible. I try to watch my fair share, but Tim's recent admission that he only saw four new movies in 2010 quite frankly shocked me.

That's ok, want a shocker from me? I haven't seen some of the classic like Raging Bull, The Maltese Falcoln or Chinatown. I know, I know.

But we have vowed to make 2011 the year that we make up for our past transgressions. Tim has agreed to watch 50 new movies over the course of the year. The good thing is that since he hasn't seen any in the past few years (or decade), there's a wide pool to choose from. I already think that all of Christopher Nolan's movies are a must.

I mean, come on, how much longer can he possibly go without seeing The Dark Knight? That's where you come in. Help Tim out by suggesting which movies he should watch this year. Tim will create a special blog where he updates his progress throughout the year.

As for me? Well, you didn't think I'd get off so easy did you? Well, I won't. The AFI recently updated their list of 100 Years...100 Movies and I'm ashamed to admit that of the 100 movies, I haven't seen over 40 of them. I know, I know.

So, my goal for 2011 is to complete the updated AFI list and watch all of the movies that I haven't seen yet. Like Tim, I'll be keeping a blog that I will update with my progress. Heck, if I have time, perhaps I'll go back and watch some of your suggestions for Tim that I might have missed the first time around.
